Joe has been playing drums since age 11 and is currently studying Level 3 UAL Music Performance at Weston University Campus, having passed Level 2 Access to Music with distinction. He is qualified to Grade 8, which he also passed with distinction.
Joe plays drums in three bands including a covers band, The Baskervilles who recently provided the after show entertainment at the From the Jam gig on Weston pier. His main passion is with Wych Elm, an original, female fronted band who are receiving recognition in the Bristol music scene and were recently described as the hardest working band in Bristol.
They regularly perform in Bristol’s music venues and have ventured out as far as London’s West End to perform at the Social to rave reviews from the local music press. They will be performing at the Dot to Dot festival 2018 before hitting the studio to record their debut album.
Joe has worked through his LCM grades whilst at Music Makers and feels there is great value in this, not only to develop technique, but to gain confidence to perform in front of hundreds of people.
Music has become a big part of Joe’s life and he is keen to share his experience and is happy to tailor lessons to an individual’s requirements, whether that is the LCM syllabus or just learning to drum to your favourite song, whatever the genre.
