Vocals – Classical, Pop and Music Theatre.
Sarah comes from a strong Performing Arts background. Her Aunty runs ‘Levings School of Dance’ in Christchurch, NZ, and her Uncle is an established local opera singer and music teacher back home in New Zealand.
Sarah has been training as a classical singer, participating in shows, musicals, competitions and performing as a solo singer at various events since she was 10-years-old.
In 2008 Sarah completed her music degree at Otago University, and went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Fine Arts at Dunedin School of Art, and then a Graduate Diploma in secondary teaching at Dunedin College of Education. During her studies Sarah also completed her Trinity College of London singing exams grades 5-8, gaining the highest mark in Grade 7 across all instruments.
Some of Sarah’s performance highlights include; singing as lead vocalist and entertainer for ‘Miss Universe Otago’ in 2014, and Winning first place in the Gladstone Harbour Festival in Queensland Australia, singing ‘Summertime’ last year.
When Sarah isn’t performing herself, she is passionate about teaching both singing and music. Although her background is in classical and musical theatre singing, over the past few years she has developed her own unique teaching style and adapted ‘bel canto’ (classical pedagogy) to teach pop, folk and jazz.
Last year in Australia, Sarah ran a mini singing school where she taught both individual and group lessons, preparing students for school music assessments, the Eisteddfod competitions, and the AMEB singing exams.
