Senior Tutor – Accompanist and Acoustic Piano.
Joshua teaches the piano at all levels from beginner to advanced students including coaching for Diploma preparation, and theory of music. He is also a professional accompanist and an International Examiner for the London College of Music.
Joshua started learning the piano at the age of 11 and by the age of 20 had gained his LTCL Piano Teacher’s Diploma and PGCE in Music Education from Kingston University. He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985 and in 2018, the DipLCM Piano Recital with distinction.
Joshua’s professional career was primarily as a Director of Music in Private Schools, alongside which he maintained a private teaching practice.
He is particularly interested in classical music from Baroque to Modern and is very keen to promote the ability to play in ensemble and includes opportunities for students to develop their skills in playing piano duets, chamber music and accompanying.
In his role as Senior Tutor at the Academy, Joshua offers advice, workshops and Mock Examinations for students preparing for examinations at all levels.
Joshua is a Fellow of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
