Ryan first started playing guitar at the age of thirteen whilst being influenced by a musical community of students in Worle Community School. He obtained an A* in Access to Music at GCSE level. This led to a triple distinction star BTEC in his Music Performance course. Following which he gained a first-class performance and production BA Hons degree through Bath Spa University.
During education Ryan sought opportunities outside of the class room to not only gain experience but also secure a professional career within the music industry. This led onto recording with songwriters/musicians in studios such as Monnow Valley, Modern World and Peter Gabrielle’s Real World Studios.
He has also written and recorded his own compositions as well as original covers of various genres from Jazz to modern day popular music.
Whilst exploring avenues of music, Ryan has been lucky enough to sit in with the session band for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita who were performing at the prestigious Birmingham Hippodrome. The opportunity arose from completing the London Trinity College of Music’s Grade 8 Rock and Pop exam in which Ryan obtained a Distinction with a mark of 98%. Through this exam Ryan was lucky enough to meet and network with one of the session members from the touring Evita show which then led him to experience being part of a live professional pit band.
Recently he has established himself as a professional live and studio session guitarist. He has worked for acts such as Jive Talkin who have remained as the number one Bee Gees tribute act in the UK. Ryan has also worked with Sarah Eden-Winn (runner up – The Voice UK) and Marvin Da Jazz man who made his debut on Britain’s Got Talent with the Ratpackers in 2018.
Ryan is now currently working with local musicians in corporate and wedding functions whilst still performing with various artists in acoustic and electric band formats professionally around the UK.
